Elgin "Jobber Stepped Deco Case" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow rolled gold plate, circa 1936.

This smaller-sized jobber-made case is one of the many designs offered by mail-order jewelers to re-purpose Elgin movements. It houses an Elgin 18/0-size movement with an inlaid enamel dial with fantastic Egyptian Revival style numerals. It is excellent condition with some light overall brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a thin line of brassing along one edge. The case measures 38mm long and 21mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is excellent, with some light marks. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by a 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. The watch has a 1/2-inch lug width.
