Hamilton Wilshire Coral

Scarce Hamilton “Wilshire” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K coral gold fill, circa 1941.

Hamilton introduced pink gold watches in late 1939, calling them “coral gold” watches. Offered only in a handful of models in gold-fill and solid gold, the watches were available for only a few years before World War II and all are scarce. The “Wilshire” has a thin, flat case with large articulated lugs. It was priced at $55.00 in 1941. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 50mm long and 22mm wide. Original coral finish dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold numerals. Glass crystal is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original fluted crown.

Price $450. SOLD
