Very scarce Illinois "Sangamon" men's Machine Age design wristwatch in steel, circa 1934.
The "Sangamon" was among the last Illinois wristwatch models introduced and was completely produced at the Hamilton factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was priced at $25.00 in 1934 and is very scarce; this is the first example I have offered in many years. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. The bezel still shows most of its brushed and polished finishes. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with some light marks and dents. The case measures 39mm long and 22mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Older refinished etched dial is very good. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Illinois grade 805A manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
Price $450. SOLD
