Elgin DeLuxe 5506
Scarce Elgin “DeLuxe Model 5506” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1941.
The “DeLuxe Model 5506” is usually found with a plain gold numeral dial, but it was also available with this spectacular two-tone rose and silver dial with Roman numerals. This dial variation is very scarce. The watch was priced at $42.50 in 1941. This example is in excellent condition with no brassing to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few specks of brassing in the corners. The case measures 36mm long and 20mm wide. Original two-tone rose and silver dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 537 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
