Elgin Legionnaire 403
Elgin “Legionnaire 403” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1929.
The “Legionnaire 403” has a tonneau-shaped case with black enamel Art Deco zig-zag designs on the bezel. It was priced to consumers at $21.50 in 1929. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear and some light scratches to the chromium plating. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 30mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Refinished dial is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 485 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
