Lord Elgin Eldorado
Lord Elgin “Eldorado” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1954.
The “Eldorado” has the same case as the “Black Knight” model, but with a gold finish honeycomb textured dial. The “Eldorado” seems to be far less common than the “Black Knight” and was priced at $79.50 in 1954. This example is in excellent condition showing only a few tiny specks of brassing to the highpoints of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 41mm long and 27mm wide. Factory-original gold finish dial is superb, has solid gold applied Cubist numerals and markers. Has correct conical glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 680 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
