Scarce Elgin “Lady and Tiger” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white and green gold with black and amber enamel, circa 1928.

In the 1920s, no other watch manufacturer could match Elgin’s Art Deco designs for ladies’ wristwatches. Elgin retained top designers of international prominence to create some fantastic designs. The “Lady and Tiger” is perhaps the most famous and sought-after of the enamel watches from this period and features a 1920s flapper girl on one side and a roaring tiger on the other. It was priced to consumers at $65.00 in 1928. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Enamel is superb and complete with only some very tiny marks.
