Scarce Elgin “Model 1138” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1933.

The "Model 1138" was advertised as dustproof and has a special molded celluloid crystal which fits into a groove in the hinged caseback to encase the movement. It is a scarce model and this is the only example I've seen with its original special crystal. It is in excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing to the bezel and lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 38mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Original celluloid crystal has a few marks and has yellowed slightly with age. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 484 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
