Scarce Elgin "Official Boy Scout" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1932.

Elgin marketed this inexpensive wristwatch at Boy Scouts and Boy Scout leaders during the 1930s. It was priced at a modest $16.95 in 1932. Owing to hard use in the outdoors, examples in extra nice condition such as this one are quite scarce. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing only a few light marks to the chromium plating. The case shows most of its alternating brushed and polished finishes. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few light scratches. Case measures 39mm long and 31mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Original factory new-old-stock dial is superb, has new luminous indices. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 462 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $425. SOLD
