Very rare Hamilton “Tiffany & Co. Gilman” men’s Streamline Moderne design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold with original box, circa 1947.

Hamilton and Tiffany & Co. had a long relationship dating back to the 1920s and it is no surprise that when Tiffany wanted high-end watches for its stores, it chose Hamilton along with Patek Philippe, IWC, Longines, Movado, and a few others. Hamilton produced special versions of a limited selection of its 14K and 18K models for Tiffany, with "Tiffany & Co." on the dial instead of "Hamilton." These were then boxed and sold by Tiffany in its boutiques, usually at a premium cost over the conventional Hamilton models. All of the Tiffany Hamiltons are quite rare; this is one of only three examples of the "Gilman" version I have ever seen. It is in excellent condition showing only very light wear and some light marks. The sides of the case and the caseback still have some of the factory brushed finish. Caseback is excellent with a presentation inscription executed by Tiffany in its workshops with its unique lined engraving font. Case measures 43mm long and 22mm wide. Original dial is very good, has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Original silk and leather Tiffany & Co. brown box is very good, showing only modest wear.
