Rare Elgin “Model 212” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold with blue enamel, circa 1928.

In 1928, Elgin introduced two solid gold men’s wristwatch models with hinged lugs and blue enamel Roman numeral bezels, priced to consumers at $95.00. They are far rarer than the corresponding Hamilton enamel models and are seldom offered for sale. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear and a few light marks. Blue enamel is superb, with no chips or scratches. Hinged lugs are excellent and undamaged. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 40mm long and 26mm wide. Refinished two-tone dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 444 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $3,100. SOLD
