Rare Hamilton "Square" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1927.

For a few months in late 1926 and early 1927, Hamilton offered its first generation "Square" case with the new 987 movement with the subseconds at the 6 o'clock position, which replaced the 986A movement previously used in the "Square" model. Hamilton had the inner casebacks stamped with "7" so factory assemblers would place the correct movement in the correct case. This version is much rarer than the second generation "Square" and likely only a couple hundred were made this way. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram reading "J.F.K." The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is excellent, has black printed numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
